David Brydie Mitchell was Governor of Georgia and a U.S. Indian agent. He received these letters, which relate mainly to the affairs of East Florida, the Creek and Seminole Indians, the recovery of Negro slaves held by the Indians, the Georgia Volunteers, and the War of 1812, between 1805 and 1829.
